Why Your Body Already Knows the Season Changed I've had four women in the last two weeks tell me some version of the same thing. They're tired in a way that doesn't match their sleep. They're craving warm food out of nowhere. One described it as "just feeling heavier," and couldn't explain why. Nothing's wrong with any of them. Their bodies are doing exactly what they're supposed to do as the light changes. This is the bit that gets missed constantly. We talk about circadian rhythm like it's just about sleep, get morning light, avoid screens before bed, all true, all useful. But your body doesn't only track the 24 hour cycle. It tracks the year. Shortening daylight in autumn shifts when your melatonin rises and when your cortisol peaks in the morning.
